Southern Pacific 1941 (30 Minutes)
Spectacular scenery sets the tone for great shots of SP locomotives in San Francisco, Oakland, Roseville, and on Donner Pass. You’ll see 2-8-0s, 2-8-2s, 4-6-2s, 4-8-2s, 2-10-2s, Cab Forwards, and even SP ferry boats in action. The extraordinary color footage used in this show was shot between 1936 and 1941.
Southern Pacific Steam (30 Minutes)
Filmed in the 1950s, these images capture commuter trains on the San Francisco Peninsula, freight and passenger operations in the San Joaquin Valley, mail trains on the Coast Line, and more. The locomotive types range from 0-6-0s to Cab Forwards, and the variety in this priceless retrospective is awesome.
Southern Pacific: The Coast Line (30 Minutes)
Experience the thrill of Daylights racing up the California coast from Los Angeles to King City in the 1950s. You’ll also view Black Widow F-units and Cab Forwards pulling long, heavy freight trains. Special highlights feature Cab Forwards in helper service and doubleheaders with steam and early diesels. It’s an amazing collection!
